Marriage is tough

I don't drink but my husband does. He used to respect my not drinking and keep his beer in the garage. In the summer it would be warm and then he would put it in the freezer to get it cold. In the winter is was ice chippy cold and he would bring it in to thaw it down. Lately, he's just been keeping it in the fridge, which isn't working for me at all. Just because I don't drink doesn't mean I wouldn't like to. This year I sought high and low to find an inexpensive fridge that would hold his beer and be useful for our family as well. I finally found it it on Craig's list and was so excited to get it for only $150. It was a year old and looked like new. It retails for $399 at Home Depot and I got it for $150. I spiffed it up, and put a nice note saying "In case you see this before I can gift it to you... Merry Christmas"
And he saw it. "Ah, sweeeet! Finally a place for my beer!" Thanks for thinking of me honey. This is great, now we have a place for extra water and pop for guests and it will fit extra ice bags, since I won't fix the ice maker on the other fridge. This was a great idea. I know you it got at a good price or you wouldn't have done it. Awesome. I'm going to stock it right away. Dang, it even fits perfect right we always imagined a fridge would go.
No, that's just what I imagined in my mind. Instead he had a look of disgust on his face and said "why'd you do this?" went on to say how it didn't fit or look right and ended with "you bought it for yourself. You weren't thinking of me".
And that's how my Christmas gift of 2008 and went. Here I always thought it was only clothes I bought for him that he returned.
